Montana Drivers Rank Worst in Nation

According to the website, CarInsuranceComparison.com, Montana drivers were ranked the worst in the country for the year 2017.

The study of the nation's best and worst drivers considered five categories: fatality rate, failure to obey, drunk driving, speeding, and careless driving. The website states that, among those categories, Montana was ranked first in failure to obey, second in fatalities, fourth in drunk driving, sixth in speeding and 29th in careless driving.

Fatality Accidents in Montana

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration compiles data showing that, in 2016, Montana had 190 fatality crashes on Montana roadways, which was actually down from 224 the previous year. Of those 190 fatalities in 2016, 85 involved drunk or impaired driving and 61 involved speeding, according to the NHTSA.
